Recommendations For Upgrading Toshiba Notebook Parts
If your computer breaks down or you would like to upgrade, adding parts to your computer should be no problem. This is also true for a notebook computer but should be left to a professional. There are however some upgrades and repairs that you can accomplish yourself without to much trouble using genuine Toshiba parts or even generic replace parts. Then there are upgrades that will require only Toshiba notebook parts.
Lets consider some various conditions to decide if our notebook is beyond repair or if you can replace the defective Toshiba notebook parts and repair it.
Upgrades
Most notebook computers allow for upgrades. Consult your manual to see what kinds of upgrades your Toshiba notebook allows. Usually you can upgrade memory and hard drive capacity but once again I would have a professional do it unless you really know what you are doing.
When it comes to memory you are probably better off using genuine Toshiba notebook parts on that but hard drives are made by other manufacturers and you need to check your manual for compatibility.
Notebook screens are not upgradeable. You would need a whole new notebook for that which, for some reason, is really difficult to get some people to understand. Trust me, you cannot upgrade your screen to a 17" screen in your existing notebook.
Notebook Died
Notebooks now days are much more durable than earlier days although dropping a notebook that is not in a protective case can cause serious damage to the components and circuits. Even a protective case will normally not protect a notebook that is accidentally dropped in water.
Parts That Can Be Repaired
Defective notebook screens can usually be repaired although in some case they may not be repaired. Other components such as the power supply and battery can be replaced if necessary.
Any of the peripheral drives like CD-Rom or DVD drive can also be replaced using Toshiba notebook parts. If you see smoke pouring out of the back of your notebook then don't freak out. Get it to a repair shop because replacing some of the Toshiba notebook parts might save your notebook even after a puff of smoke.
